Autumn NewsSeptember 28, 2016 · Anya Glazer
We’ve had a busy summer of book releases, festivals and other events. Highlights include two Do authors - Alan Moore and Jen Goss - speaking at the prestigious Hay Literary Festival (you can download a recording of their talk here), an inspiring talk from Gavin Strange at the UAL's Graduate Futures Week, and hands-on cookery demo's from Jen and Anja at Camp Bestival and The Good Life Experience (see pic). Good Life also played host to talks from David Hieatt and Mark Shayler, and with a book stall set up in the market place as well, it was a great way to see out the summer.
Looking ahead to the autumn, Sunday 23 October we'll be heading to the Slow Living Market in Orford, Suffolk, co-organised by the brilliant Pump Street Bakery. Further down the line, our Australian distributor Perimeter will be showcasing our books at The Big Design Market in Melbourne, 2-4 December. For further details head to our events page.
We're also excited to announce the return of the Do Market this Christmas! Last year was a great success with over 1,000 people coming along on the day to check out our curated selection of brands with craftsmanship and innovation at their heart. This year's venue is the mighty E5 Bakehouse in East London. More details to follow - in the meantime mark your diaries for Saturday November 26th...
As we begin to plan the next Do Books, our current titles continue to travel the world. We're pleased to say Do Purpose is being published in Thailand, and Do Lead will soon be available in Portuguese!
Finally, thanks to Elle Decoration for the kind words about the series and highlighting Do Design in the October issue. 'The new generation of self-help books is pint-sized and punchy with a strong graphic look.' And to Anna Jones for including Do Preserve in her recent Guardian column on jam-making - 'my guide to preserving through this and many autumns to come.'
As ever, you can catch up with our latest updates on Twitter and Instagram - and for longer posts and extracts from across the series you can now find us on Medium.
Happy reading & doing :)
