The Do Book Co.

Work with the BestMarch 11, 2013 · Miranda West

We met James Victore last year in the wilds of Wales. He had left his studio in Brooklyn to come and speak at the Do Lectures . We knew that James had been disrupting the art world for years, but the question was: would he be willing to help us do the same with our books?

James is a self-taught, independent artist and designer with an impressive client list ranging from Moet & Chandon, Aveda, Esquire and TIME magazine, to Yohji Yamamoto, Bobbi Brown, and The New York Times. His posters have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and are in the permanent collections of the Louvre, Paris, the Library of Congress, Washington DC, the Design Museum in Zurich and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Not only that but he lectures and teaches regularly around the globe and is a professor at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. He has also published his own book which we highly recommend, Victore or, Who Died and Made You Boss? (Abrams, 2010).

Fortunately for us, James agreed that he was the right man for the job. He asked that we trust him. We did. And we love what he produced. We hope you do too.

Work with the best.

Thanks to Jonathan Cherry for this arresting photo of James taken at last year's Do Lectures.
